More than 80 per cent of families and individuals in British Columbia will be receiving an enhanced climate action tax credit, beginning this week.
Individuals who are eligible for the credit will receive up to $218, children will get $64 in a one time increase and a family of four will receive up to $564. This is roughly double the amount eligible households would have received prior to the Covid-19 Action Plan.
The credit is there to help people and businesses get through B.C.’s restart plan. The plan includes the B.C. Emergency Benefit for Workers whose jobs were affected between Mar. 1 and Mar. 15.
The tax credit will be coming alongside the federal GST and HST returns. If you have completed your 2019 B.C. income tax return then you are eligible for the credit.
