Funding has been announced for people in the Northwest to benefit from better and safer local infrastructure.
This is possible thanks to a new joint federal-provincial investment of over $11.3 million in four projects in the region.
Stikine MLA, Doug Donaldson says, ” These upgrades will ensure that communities have infrastructure that will meet their needs into the future.”
Grants in the northwest are going towards, Kitimat-Stikine RD: Telegraph Creek boat launch and dock replacement, Taku River Tlingit First Nation, Village of Telkwa wastewater treatment plant and sanitary collection system rehabilitation and Nisga’a Village of Gitwinksihlkw: Ts’oohl Ts’ap Recreation Centre upgrade.
This funding is part of over $228 million in grants going to B.C. communities through the first intake of Community, Culture and Recreation and Rural & Northern Communities streams of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program.
