Health officials gave their daily briefing today on the Covid-19 situation.
Today there were 30 new cases to report bringing the provincial total to 3392. There are now 77 cases in Northern Health an increase of 8 since the last reporting period. In B.C. there are 304 active cases, 16 of which are in hospital and 3 in ICU. There has also been one additional death.
Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said during the press conference today that she is in the process of introducing a new order. The order would require people that rent rooms, Airbnbs, houseboats and houses to limit the amount of guests or people renting the units. She also says it is important to keep your groups small when you’re going out. Henry also says that currently restaurants have rules in place that limit the amount of people per table to 6.
She says to be mindful of those around you and to give everyone the space to stay safe.
So are we just gonna let people keep coming in from the states “to go to Alaska” but they have an EXTRA LONG VISIT! EXPOSING EVERYONE THERE ARE MULTIPLE REPORTS OF PEOPLE CAMPING AND GOING INTO STORES WITHOUT BEING QUARANTINED!
We NEED to make it mandatory to wear a mask when you are out and about! Covid will never go away until we start doing what needs to be done to stop it! I also believe that the borders should be closed again as our numbers went up once the borders started to open. I mean look at the U.S. for example, they are having actual Covid parties! Just to see who can catch it! And we are just willy nilly letting them in. And you know they are NOT self quarantineding for 2 weeks when they get here! It has to stop at the borders and make face masks mandatory! Thank you
