Kitimat RCMP and local search and rescue were called out to Onion Lake over the weekend.
Police were contacted Sunday at 2:30 p.m. about a female in distress.
A helicopter brought in by Kitimat SAR located the person’s vehicle around 6 p.m..
A Police Service dog was able to find the woman a short distance away.
RCMP say she was apprehended under the mental health act and taken to Kitimat hospital.
