This week, construction crews started work on a project to build new acceleration and deceleration lanes on Highway 37 near Williams Creek. Once the project is complete it will mean enhanced safety for people turning into or leaving the Gruchy’s Beach parking lot. It is one of three access points and can see up to 5,000 vehicles a day in the summer months. This is currently the only entrance without turning lanes.
While construction is active drivers can expect delays of up to 20 minutes as crews are working. Single lane alternating traffic will also be in effect during active construction.
