Our guest on this show is PaulStar, a Cree musician and producer out of Ottawa, who comes from a long line of musicians and is set to release a brand new single dedicated to his Grandfather, called “One More Time”. He also has a new EP on the way, with many lyrics written in the Cree language. Paul’s record label, which he launched nearly three years ago, has not only given him a platform for his own music, but also other Indigenous artists who’ve signed on to his company. In our interview, Paul tells us about his childhood and connection to music, and talks about why making music with lyrics written in his first language was something he’d wanted to do for a while.
