Oct. 4 marks the beginning of fire prevention week, and it runs until the 10th.
The Terrace Fire Department is teaming up with the National Fire Protection Association who is the official sponsor of the week. This years campaign slogan is “Serve Up Fire Safety in the Kitchen”.
According to the Office of the Fire Commissioner, cooking is one of the leading causes of home fires and home fire injuries in British Columbia.
Throughout the week the City of Terrace will be sharing posts about fire safety on their Facebook page. You can find fire safety tips on the City of Terrace’s website. However, due to Covid-19 the Terrace Fire Department is not running smoke house tours or the Fire Chief for a Day program this year.
