A new children’s book called “the Bear’s Medicine”, written by Prince George artist Clayton Gauthier, is making headlines after being nationally recognized by the Periodical Marketers of Canada, with a literature award.
Clayton, from the Nak’azdli First Nation and of Northern Cree descent, has been making art since he was a child, and with this book, Clayton incorporates his artistry, his nation`s language and traditional knowledge.
In our interview, he`ll talk about how art has always been a part of his Journey, why he was compelled to write this book, and how he hopes to help awaken his nation’s language by presenting it though this story.
