On this show we’re joined by Margaret Grenier, an award winning Gitxsan and Cree dancer and choreographer, born in Prince Rupert, who heads up the Dancers of Damelahamid as their executive and artistic director.
Recently, Margaret was recognized on a national stage for her work, earning the Walter Carsen Award from the Canada Council for the Arts, which comes with a $50,000 prize.
In our interview, Margaret will talk about the legacy her parents left behind with their dance company, and how she hopes to continue their work for generations to come. She’ll also discuss what winning the national award means for Indigenous Dance.
