The City of Terrace has released some specifics regarding their upcoming budget.
There is $2.7 million available coming from Provincial Covid-19 Safe Restart Grant Funds. The City of Terrace is projecting that it will lose $1 million in 2021 as a result of the pandemic. This loss comes as there is limited operations of facilities along with the continued closure of casinos and gaming centres.
In terms of what people can expect the city is currently considering a 7 per cent tax increase. There would be 6 per cent per the financial plan and 1 per cent for new Asset Management reserves.
Some of the things the City of Terrace is looking to do is create two new positions to support the Public Works and Engineering departments and add a new RCMP member. People are encouraged to share their feedback on the proposed budget, you can find all the information at Terrace.ca/Budget2021.
