Two kiosks have arrived in the north that would enable remote monitoring service to approximately 50 device patients in the Terrace area.
The Merlin on Demand Kiosks arrived in the north and will be in place in both Terrace and Fort St. John. They will service approximately 20 to 25 device patients in the Fort St. John area.
The kiosk will allow St. Jude Cardiac Implanted Electronic Device patients to transmit the device data in scheduled follow up checks similar to an in person visit. The device could also be used to determine if the patient needs to be transferred to another hospital or could be discharged if they’re stable; if they’re displaying shock like symptoms related to the implanted device.
Many individuals and corporate partners have collectively given generously to the #safeathome Fund to see sustainable solutions in medical equipment be supported throughout the north.
