Prince Rupert Port Authority records record year for cargo volumes

The Prince Rupert Port Authority has announced that it has set another record for annual cargo volumes.

Despite changes presented by the Covid-19 pandemic the port still moved 32.4 million tonnes of cargo. Ridley Terminal saw a year-over-year increase of 26 percent, driven by demand for thermal coal.

The Port did see a drop in passenger volumes with summer cruise season cancelled in BC.
