The Nisga’a Lisims Government is urging the premiers office and public health officials to bring the Covid-19 vaccine to the region.
Eva Clayton, President of the Nisga’a Nation said in an interview today that the Nisga’a Nation has not received any doses of the Covid-19 vaccine as cases in the region continue to mount. She says that the vaccine is part of their long-term Covid-19 plan. Clayton goes on to say that the Nisga’a Valley Health Authority has confirmed a third death due to Covid-19 in the region.
She goes on to say that it is up those in the Nass Valley to flatten the curve.
Clayton is calling on the Premier and the Health Minister to meet with the Nisga’a government to discuss the vaccine.
Currently, there is a Local State of Emergency in place in the region.
