B.C. is planning on vaccinating more than 400,000 people as B.C. moves into phase 2 of its plan.
This part of the plan will see people receiving Covid-19 vaccines from March to early April. The groups that will be receiving these doses will be, seniors and high-risk people residing in independent living and seniors’ supportive housing which will include staff, home-care support clients and staff, Indigenous peoples born in or before 1956 and seniors born in or before 1941.
First doses for those living and working in independent living centres and seniors’ supportive housing, as well as home-care staff and clients begins today. Health Officials will contact those in these priority groups directly to book appointments.
Starting next Monday, March 8, Seniors aged 90 and above as well as Indigenous peoples 65 and over may call to book their appointments. The following Monday March 15, seniors aged 85 and above may call to book their appointments and finally on March 22, Seniors 80 and up may call to book their appointments.
