The Canadian Matriarch of Blues, Dalannah Gail Bowen joins us on this episode to talk about her life and career, which goes all the way back to the Motown days.
Dalannah is of African-Canadian and Cherokee ancestry, and is using her powerful voice in a new, original song called “Lullaby for the Missing and Murdered Women”.
The song is meant to be a dedication to the many women who’ve gone missing or been lost to the hands of violence.
In our interview, Dalannah will talk not only about this new and meaningful piece, but she’ll also share some of her own personal struggles, including battling addiction and suffering from a stroke.
