Growing up in Witset, Chelsie McCutcheon was always connected to the beautiful outdoors.
Skiing by age 3, and eventually switching to snowboarding, Chelsie found a passion for the mountains and has made them her place of work since she was 15 years old.
Her first job was as an instructor at Hudson Bay Mountain, fittingly, the same place we conducted our interview over Zoom…so with that being said, please excuse the wind, I’m unfortunately not as great at audio editing as I’d hoped.
In this interview, Chelsie will tell us about her work helping connect Indigenous youth with outdoor sports, and how she stays connected with the Wet’suwet’en Nation while living in Squamish, not only with the youth programs, but also through yoga.
