People that are at a higher risk from Covid-19 due to existing medical conditions will be able to register to get their vaccine starting today.
The accelerated timeline for B.C.’s immunization plan means roughly 200,000 people in B.C. 16 years and older who are clinically vulnerable will be able to get their first dose in the coming weeks.
Physicians and providers in cancer care, kidney diseases and other conditions causing compromised immunity worked with public health and international Covid-19 data to ensure those most at risk are prioritized first.
People that have been identified as most at risk of severe illness from Covid-19 will receive a letter in the mail in the coming days with information on how to book the appointment. If people believe they are in the clinically vulnerable group and have not received a letter by April 15 they can contact the provincial call centre.
Be sure to check with your local health authority and the Government of B.C.’s website regarding any updates on B.C.’s vaccine timeline.
