The province’s police watchdog has sent investigators to Burns Lake.
The Independent Investigations Office is taking a look at an incident that took place on December 6 last year.
According to the RCMP, they were responding to reports of an impaired snowmobiler. When they located the snowmobile outside a residence, they allegedly found an impaired man inside, wearing snowmobile gear and a helmet. He was arrested without incident, but while an officer was waiting for a tow truck to take away the snowmobile, police say a woman from the home attempted to tamper with evidence.
Police say there was some sort of interaction before she was also arrested. When she was released from RCMP cells, she went to the hospital and was found to be injured.
The IIO investigates all police-related incidents that result in serious injury or death.
