With the continued heat warning in effect throughout much of the province, the city of Terrace has set up a cooling center to help citizens beat the heat.
The cooling centre is located at the main arena at the Sportsplex and is available from 11 am to 7 pm.
Access is available through the doors closest to the Aquatic Centre, and it will be marked with signage. This is an inter-agency effort with Northern Health, the Ministry of Social Development & Poverty Reduction, Kermode Friendship Society, TDCSS, and Ksan Society.
The capacity of the cooling centre will be limited to 50 people at a time, and people will be required to wear masks and practice physical distancing while inside the facility.
The center started running on the weekend and will continue running today however, the city will soon decide if they will keep the center going throughout the rest of this week.
