The city of Terrace has just placed a ban on any lawn and garden sprinkling with the record heat wave continuing to bear down on most of B.C.
According to the city’s data, water consumption has taken a dramatic increase over the weekend as Terrace saw temperatures reach the mid-30’s. In order to conserve water for firefighting purposes, the city is now asking the public to limit watering to hand sprinkling with a controlled nozzle only.
This ban will remain in place until temperatures cool off.
People are also being asked to conserve general water use as much as possible, and city crews will be out informing residents of the new restrictions.
