The campfire ban which had been in place since June 30, was lifted at noon today for both Terrace and Ferry Island.
The campfire ban is still in effect outside of Terrace city limits and the bans on Category 2 and 3 fires, which are usually used for land clearing will also remain in place.
Terrace will continue to monitor weather conditions over the next couple of weeks to determine if putting the campfire ban back in effect is required.
Terrace Citizens are also being reminded that burning yard waste, grass, branches, leaves, and other debris is not allowed within city limits, thanks to the City of Terrace Fire Prevention Bylaw. This bylaw is in place to prevent fires within the community and also to avoid hurting people who have respiratory health conditions.
