The Northwest Fire Centre is continuing to closely monitor the Northwest’s fire situation, but they have been able to send multiple crews and other personnel to help out other fire centres through the past two weeks.
Casda Thomas, the communications assistant for the BC Wildfire Service, stated that the four NWFC unit crews, including the Firebird Unit Crew from Terrace are currently working in the Kamloops area.
Six of the fire centre’s more well known attack crews are working in southern areas of B.C. Three other teams are in the northwest as they wait on standby and they are also working on fire suppression activities and one other crew is currently on rest days. Single resources have also been sent to multiple incidents in the Kamloops, Southeast and Cariboo Fire Centres.
