BC Liberal leadership candidate Michael Lee gave an ad vocation for greater provincial investment in the city of Terrace as well as a “different path forward” during one of his campaign stops in Terrace on Tuesday.
Lee, the MLA for Vancouver-Langara and BC Liberal transportation critic, gave a statement saying that the northwest region has “tremendous potential” and that the BC government needs to start reinvesting in the northwest.
For Lee, that means the provincial government needs to start doing more to work with local leaders to ensure that transportation networks, housing and other community amenities are going to be able to keep up with the growing demand.
Lee also said that partnerships are very important for reconciliation with Indigenous peoples, and that those partnerships take several different forms. Lee was one of the two members of the BC Liberals that reviewed how the United Nations Declaration of Rights of Indigenous Peoples in B.C was going to be adopted into the province.
