Highway 16 is about to become greener, figuratively speaking.
16 new electric vehicle charging stations are set to be installed at 8 different sites along the Highway.
These sites will be operated by BC Hydro as part of the CleanBC Program.
Each new site will feature two stations and are planned to be installed in the following locations:
100 1st Ave. East, Prince Rupert,
276 City Centre, Kitimat,
3743 Second Ave., Smithers,
3487 9th St., Houston,
4646 10 Ave., New Hazelton,
313 Hwy 16 W, Burns Lake,
111 Endako Ave., Fraser Lake,
Ryley Lane, Vanderhoof,
The new stations will cost 21 cents a minute to charge, beginning in May of this year.
Some of the stations are open now, while most are planned for the fall.
Hi, looked on the internet about electric vehicles coming to the west and surprisingly it says Lithium batteries is what makes the vehicles go. The lithium batteries are made in Afghanistan , which right now is what the U.S. is dealing with . although that is the U.S. is the U.S. the majority of trades that Canada has is with the U.S. and we are welcoming these trades into the country . just saying .
