In a letter sent out to their employees, Rio Tinto and Unifor Local 2301 shed a bit of light on how their negotiations were proceeding.
Namely, after the meeting the two sides had back on August 12th and after some follow up discussions, Rio Tinto and Unifor Local 2301 will be meeting yet again early next week in Vancouver in order to determine if they will be able to find the common ground to officially start negotiations again.
Both parties also concluded that they will not be communicating again until the next meeting that will hopefully get closer to resolving the strike that began back on July 25th.
The letter also did not provide any details on what went on during the August 12th meeting between Unifor’s President and Rio Tinto’s top execs from Montreal.
