A mandatory inquest in to a 2016 death at the Terrace Sportsplex will take place this month.
The inquest will look in to the 2016 death of Nicolas Allan Jeppesen, due to him being in police custody at the time of his death.
An independent investigation from 2018 already cleared police of wrong-doing.
The initial incident saw officers respond to a call where a man was threatening to cut himself with an axe.
Police tried to use tasers to apprehend the man, but could not stop him from cutting his own neck.
The BC Coroners’ Service will use the inquest to gather information to help prevent possible similar incidents from occurring in the future.
