A new staffing model looks to bring more paramedics to rural and remote communities in Northern BC.
Yesterday, the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George released an update they received on the plan from BC Ambulance.
Previously, paramedics in the region worked heavily via an on-call system, which made retention and attraction to the position difficult.
Expected to roll out in November, the new model will bring 13 regular paramedic positions to northern communities.
These communities include: Bear Lake, Mackenzie, McBride, and Valemount.
