The Thompson Rivers University is going to be requiring that all students, staff, and faculty disclose their vaccination status at both the Kamloops and Williams Lake campuses when the school starts up again in the fall.
The University’s president and vice-chancellor Brett Fairbairn gave a statement to all the parties involved with the University, letting them know that the process of revealing their status will be confidential and that details on how this system will be implemented, will be revealed in the coming days.
Fairbairn also noted that those who are not vaccinated, will have to undergo regular and rapid COVID testing, which is going to be available on the campuses.
Another thing Fairbairn mentioned was that there is going to be a vaccine clinic at the Kamloops campus for those who have not had their first dose yet, and that it was an expectation for all students and staff to get vaccinated by the fall.
Fairbairn also made sure to mention that vaccinations had increased throughout the province since the BC government had announced that masks were mandatory indoors and that proof of vaccination would be required for anyone to access non-essential services.
