Rio Tinto and Unifor 2301 have just recently released a joint statement that gives an update on how negotiations are proceeding.
The statement says that they resumed negotiations on August 24th and that talks have been productive and they have resulted in good progress being made.
It also mentioned that negotiations are going to be continuing next week and that over the next few days, the parties are looking to create a memorandum of understanding in terms of their new way of working together and their return to work protocol.
Both parties expressed their desire to remain committed to getting this new collective labour agreement done and provide a foundation for things such as respect and care in the workplace, along with operational excellence.
