The Barkerville Historic Park and Town is closing down it’s interpretive planning a week sooner than they were planning on due to an increase in COVID cases in the surrounding area.
As of today, areas like restaurants, shopping and the living history are going to be closed in the park. The public will also no longer have access to the public reception area as well. However, the front gates will still be open for anyone looking to do their own tour of the exhibits.
The close by community of Wells is having their district staff self-isolate due to this recent rise in COVID cases.
The opening day for Barkerville’s winter season has not been set yet but when it does come out, it’ll be shared on the park’s website of www.barkerville.ca.
