Nearly 1,000 individuals have now been arrested as part of the on-going RCMP Injunction Enforcement at Fairy Creek.
According to RCMP, and additional 20 arrests were made on Friday, bringing the total to 989, passing the famed logging protests of the 90s.
This makes the Fairy Creek old-growth logging protests the largest act of civil disobedience in Canadian history.
Earlier in the summer, the BC Supreme Court ruled the blockades to be unnecessary, and the protesters are claiming that makes the injunction in contempt of court.
RCMP have been enforcing the injunction on behalf of Teal-Jones Group since May.
