Northeast Sees Largest Jump in Natural Gas Cost Increase

Residents within Fortis BC`s Fort Nelson service area will see their natural gas rates increase next month.

Beginning on October 1st, residents in the Northeast will experience a rate hike of around 12 percent.

This is contrast to the 9 percent increase hitting the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, Whistler, and Revelstoke areas at the same time.

According to the Utility, the higher rate is due to increased gas usage, when compared to the South.
