The BC Forest Practices Board is going to be auditing both the forestry planning as well as the practices of the TAAN Forest Limited Partnership while they operate on a license known as Tree Farm License 60 and the partnership will be conducting their harvesting activities based on its forestry license cut.
The Board made an announcement yesterday that will be conducting this audit on September 20th on the licenses TFL 60 and Forest Licence to Cut A87661, which will both allow cutting on a Haida Gwaii northern island called central Graham Island.
Darlene Oman, a member of the Forest Practices Board, gave a statement saying that this audit is going to involve an assessment of TAAN Forest’s practices over the previous two years.
The other main components of the audit will include aspects of how the partnership conducts their business like road conditions, reforestation, wildfire prevention and forest planning.
