Members of the Lheidli T`enneh First Nation are attempting to force the relocation of a pipeline running through their territory.
The demand comes as a result of a 2018 explosion near Prince George which led to a massive flame pyre, visible from dozens of kilometres away.
Enbridge, the parent company which runs the pipeline, has been requested to reroute a 1.5 km section of the pipeline network.
Subsidiary company Westcoast Energy, was fined 40,000 dollars for the explosion last year, but the Nation is also suing for related damages.
A spokesperson from Enbridge says they are willing to discuss the safety of the pipeline, though they made no specific mention of a relocation.
