Seven Search and Rescue team members from the North were among more than 40 honoured with service awards this weekend.
Members of the Royal Canadian Search and Rescue board of Governors, the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre, and fellow SAR members determined the award winners.
Five of the Northern award winners nabbed Long Service Awards.
Of those, four call Lax Kw`alaams home, with Keith Wesley, Darrin Tait, James Henry, and Reubin Dennis being recognized for 25 years of service.
In Kitimat, Duncan Peacock was also honoured for his 30 years of service.
On top of the long service awards, Prince Rupert`s Max Erwin took home the CEO Commendation, and Masset`s Chris Ashhurst was honoured with the Coast Guard Auxilliary Administrative Award of Excellence.
