The Prince Rupert Gateway remained a strong economic contributor, despite the pandemic, according to a new study.
Released today by the newly founded Port of Prince Rupert Gateway Council, the study looked in to 32.4 tonnes of cargo shipped through the Port in 2020.
That cargo was valued at roughly 60 billion dollars.
Total economic output from the port increased by 7 percent, and full-time employment in the Gateway improved by 3 percent this year, compared to 2018 figures.
Total job growth also increased by 9 percent, while the average worker makes 14 percent more than they did in 2018.
