A petrochemical plant proposed by a Calgray-based company has drawn the ire of Prince George residents.
West Coast Olefins is looking to bring a multi-chemical plant to an area just outside Prince George.
While environmental experts and Indigenous groups have already called out the project, local residents joined in this week.
A number of delegations were present at this week’s regular council meeting to denounce the project.
In response, City Council said much of the project area is outside of their control, falling within the Regional District’s jurisdiction.
West Coast Olefins has not yet made a final investment decision on their 5.6 billion dollar proposal.
