A group of bears have decided to take a vacation in Burns Lake, at least according to numerous recent sightings.
RCMP in the Village say that over the post few days, they have received several calls of bear sightings.
One such sighting was near Lakes District Secondary School.
While Conservation Officers and RCMP are continuing to comb the area, they are also reminding residents how to stay safe.
If you see a bear walking through a yard, or minding its own business, let it be, it’s only natural.
If you see a bear feasting on human attractants, such as garbage or food waste, call the Conservation Service at 1 877 952 7277.
Only if a bear poses an immediate threat to you or someone else should you call 911.
