The results of Terrace’s citizen satisfaction survey are indicating that a majority of the people who took the survey are happy with how the city is conducting itself but even with those results, concerns about the city’s downtown social issues remain.
The overall results of the survey revealed that a little bit under two thirds of Terrace’s citizens were either satisfied or very satisfied, eight percent had neutral feelings, Twenty-two per cent said that they were somewhat dissatisfied and seven percent were very dissatisfied.
The survey had a section where residents could provide answers to questions about what they liked and what they didn’t like about living in Terrace.
Regular positive answers about what residents liked included the outdoor recreational opportunities, the town’s size and the population while common negative aspects that were brought up included homelessness, crime and the state of the downtown area.
86 people took part in the survey, 20 per cent of which don’t live in terrace full-time, while over half of the participants have been residents for over 20 years and 73 per cent of the participants having lived in Terrace for at least 10 years.
