The City of Terrace may have found another way to solve a long standing problem.
Lanfear Hill’s narrow traffic lanes and in-ideal walking/cycling path have been of concern for years.
This idea, still in it’s early stages, has gotten support from city council to look at the possibility of moving the hill’s sidewalk to the other side of the road.
City Public Works Director Jonathan Lambert referred to it as a “re-envisioning” of the Hill, with a theoretical cost of 1 million dollars, a fraction of previous proposals.
The end results of Lambert’s project would potentially see a raised sidewalk along with a guard rail that would measure somewhere between 2 and 2.4 meters.
