An abundance of bears in the Kitimat area had RCMP on the search twice last week.
The first complaint was received by a resident on Turney Street, who reported the bear rummaging throught a nearby carport.
Evidence of unprotected garbage was located in the port.
Later in the week, police were informed of a second bear at Mount Elizabeth School.
Police report that the bear had been seen on the tennis courts in the early morning on Monday, and was seen later on smith Street.
In both cases, Conservation Service was informed.
Residents are reminded that human attractants, such as garbage, being left accessible, is the leading cause of human-bear interactions.
