Northern Covid Surge Sees 55 Patients Transferred to Other Health Authorities

Doctor Bonnie Henry says residents of the North need to get back to the basics to quell the recent Covid surge.

That means washing your hands, practicing social distancing, properly wearing a facemask, and more.

The plea from the Provincial Health Officer comes as 14 new Covid patients were transferred to ICU beds in other Health Authorities over the long weekend.

That brings the total to 55 patient transfers from the North, with 43 being Covid positive, and 42 not fully vaccinated.

Over the long weekend, the province added two planes to its fleet to assist in patient transfers, largely from the North.
