A Covid scare which forced Lax Kw’alaams in to lockdown for over a week has now passed.
According to the Band, three individuals had tested positive in the community, but all have now recovered and ended their isolation.
As a result, they have decided to re-open the School, Brighter Futures, and Headstart facilities.
The Maintenance and Health Centre will fully re-open, and the Band office will be open to those who present a valid vaccine card.
Residents can still travel freely to and from the community, though visitors and contractors will still need to show their vaccine cards.
All Provincial Health Orders remain in place in the community.
