Those who have had Covid are not always immune from becoming infected a second time.
Doctor Bonnie Henry says the jury is still out on how long post-infection immunity can last, and how effective it is.
The Provincial Health Officer says that the level of immunity in those who have recovered can vary greatly, as can the length of time the antigens remain in your system.
In the meantime, she says the province will continue to recommend vaccinations for all, based on the known safe level of antigen in the immunizations.
