Prince Rupert’s Local Health Area is the only one in the North not currently in the red when it comes to Covid cases.
The province classifies any region with more than 20 Covid cases per 100 thousand as in the red zone.
At the time of last night’s weekly regional update from the BCCDC, Terrace led the Northwest with 71 cases over the past week, up from 54 the prior week.
Prince Rupert trailed everyone, adding 13 new cases over that time, down from 15 the prior week.
Smithers saw 58 new cases over the same time period, down from 73 in last week’s update.
Kitimat saw 16 new cases in their health area, compared to 18 the week before.
As a whole, Prince George continues to lead the North with 288 new cases, and the Peace River North and South Areas notched 98 and 81 cases, respectively.
