In an effort to better protect their population against growing Covid concerns, the Wet’suwet’en are requesting immediate access to Covid boosters.
In light of two recent Covid related deaths in their communities, the Nation made the request to Northern Health and the Provincial Ministry this morning.
According to the release, Council was told that, under current plans, they are not expected to see booster doses until next year.
But with four matriarchs testing positive for the virus on top of the deaths, the Nation says they are in dire need.
Yesterday, the Office of the Wet’suwet’en issued their own closures in an effort to quell the spread, and the Nation is self-isolating and undergoing regular testing.
