Nearly every Local Health Region in the North saw a jump in Covid cases over the last week.
Kitimat is the biggest exception to that rule, notching 10 new cases between October 17th and the 23rd, 6 fewer than the week before.
Smithers also saw a drop from 59 cases to 49 over that time, and the Upper Skeena went from 24 to 10, though both remain in the red zone with more than 20 cases per 100 thousand.
Terrace had the most cases in the Northwest with 88, up from 71 the week before.
But the biggest jump per capita came in Prince Rupert, who went from out of the red last week at 13 cases, to 33 in yesterday’s report.
Cases remain high in the Northeast as well, with the Peace Region North and South sitting at 112 and 129 cases, respectively.
Prince George saw 211 new cases, while Quesnel reported 97.
In terms of vaccination rates, Kitimat hit a remarkable 100 percent single vaccination rate during the week, and the Peace tails all with a rate of 66 percent.
