During the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Haisla Nation put their money where their mouth was, stepping up to help the community.
The Nation provided Northern Health with 300 thousand dollars in donations, a donation the Authority says will have a lasting impact beyond Covid.
That funding has since been invested in a slew of new equipment in both Kitimat and Terrace.
Thanks to the Funding, Kitimat General Hospital put the funding toward a new Ultrasound Machine, while Mills Memorial Hospital was able to purchase a Butterfly Handheld Ultrasound.
Both hospitals received new CO2 monitors, defibrillators, and laryngoscope equipment.
Northern Health says that, once Covid restrictions allow it, Haisla leaders will be invited to come see the equipment and the benefits the donation has brought the community.
