Burger King has trumped KFC in the battle of Smithers-based fast food restaurants.
City Council looked over the plans for the future of the former KFC lot during their regular meeting last week.
That plan would see the chicken shop replaces by a proposed Shell gas station, a convenience store, and now a Burger King.
The KFC, formerly situated on Highway 16, was closed in 2018, and discussions for the lot have been on-going since.
Council gave first and second readings to a zoning amendment which still needs third reading, and public consultation before adoption.
