Students and staff at Gitwangak Elementary School are planning a show of solidarity following an incident at Mount Elizabeth Secondary earlier this week.
A student at Mount Elizabeth in Kitimat was discriminated against by a teacher for wearing his cultural Haisla regalia and cedar hat to picture day.
Tomorrow, staff and students at the Kitwanga area school will don their regalia and gather outside the school in a show of support for the student.
Parents and community members are also invited to attend, and are asked to meet at the school at 10:00 in the morning.
Relatives of the student have begun the process of bringing the initial matter before the School Board, though no further information is available at the moment.
